Wisbech photography students are celebrating having their classwork picked up by a professional magazine.
Students took part in a ‘paint-splash’ photo shoot, achieving some incredible results which have since been featured in ‘Photoshoot Magazine’.
The learners used skills learnt on their CWA photography course to design and plan the shoot, test and experiment methods, guide models and edit images.
On approaching the well-respected Photoshoot Magazine with the final result, CWA was delighted to get a more than positive response. The photos featured in issue 18 of the publication, as a six-page feature. One of the images even made the front cover.

James Blake, teaching support officer for the students, said: “The full-day shoot resulted in so many great images that choosing examples to submit to the magazine was near on impossible. Everyone is elated that the article has been published; it’s a great boost to the students’ confidence and their future careers.”
Annabel Homewood, a student involved in the shoot, said: “It was great fun and gave me the real-life insight I need into becoming a photographer, exceeding my expectations of a college course.” Another student involved, Rebecca Cox, said: “It was really rewarding after such a lot of hard work for it all to appear in the magazine.”
The Photography department has now established a link with Photoshoot and future work is also hoped to feature in the magazine.
This particular CWA course focuses on practical skills and over the next few months will see two internationally-published models working on themed shoots with students; exploring creative studio lighting, portraiture and editing.
The Wisbech campus is now enrolling for courses starting in September.
