Interpretations include Alice in Wonderland, Lord of the Rings, War Horse, Kite Runner, My Friend Totoro, The Grim Reaper, Humpty Dumpty are transposed into a rich tapestry of sculpture, ceramics, painting and mixed media. Marketing Coordinator for The Light, Emma McGuire said “We love to get involved with the local community and giving the students an opportunity to showcase their work, is also a great way to give our customers a more local and personal experience”. One of the young artists is Chloe Andrews, 19 from Wisbech whose two paintings are based on the novel ‘The Kite Runner’ by Khaled Hosseini. Speaking at the exhibition opening, she said “I studied The Kite Runner for A-Level English and wanted to illustrate the story in a style inspired by the artist John Keane”.
