Good eyes on new lambs at campus farm
A team of staff at the Cambridge Woodside Farm of the College of West Anglia to have been checking newborn lambs and their mothers throughout the night and early morning.
Elevn ewes have now lambed and there are 18 lambs in total, most of which are out with their mothers in the field under the watchful eye of the farm’s alpacas.
There are two very friendly little lambs in Farmer Tom’s visitor centre which are being bottle reared (one was a triplet and the other one is a twin but the mother was not producing enough milk to support both the lambs).
Nine ewes are still yet to lamb, said Frances Cook Farm Operations Teaching Support Officer and Level 3 Agriculture Lecturer
They are the first lambs to be born at the farm for a number of years.
