Hopes for strong showjumping team
Coach Abi Keene is hoping to develop a strong student team to represent the College of West Anglia’s Milton campus in both dressage and showjumping team throughout the Spring and Summer this year.
Students took part in their first National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) showjumping competition.
The NSEA is an interschools competition with particularly strong challengers in and around the Cambridgeshire area.
Famous riders such as Pippa Funnell have competed within the NSEA structure so it is a great platform for the College of West Anglia’s students.
Level 3 Year 1 and Year 2 Horse Management students have competed in the 60cm and 80cm qualifier rounds.
The 80cm Cambridge County Qualifier saw two teams jumping a clear round and the others only having four faults each, giving the team third place overall.
This builds on the success from last year and adds to hopes to create a strong team for 2014.
