Former Student Is RAF100 Apprentice Of The Year
Former uniformed services student Lauren Arnold has been recognised as the RAF100 Centenary Apprentice of Year.
Senior aircraftwoman (SAC) Lauren is a logistics driver, currently based at RAF Coningsby. Not only is she able to drive almost every vehicle that the RAF operates, but she is also responsible for ensuring that military and civilian personnel are provided with the required driver training.
The Apprentice of the Year Awards took place at the RAF Museum, London, where guests dined under a stunning Lancaster bomber.
Chief of the air staff, air chief marshal Sir Steven Hillier, presented Lauren’s award. He said: “Apprentices have always taken a vital role in our service… they are as vital to the RAF’s capabilities today as they have been throughout our hundred years of history.”
Lauren maintains contact with her cadet roots being a service instructor at 1220 (March) Squadron and assisting with cadet visits to Coningsby.
