The Level 2 Media Make-up students had to pitch ideas to raise money for their chosen charities to their tutors. There were many concepts thought by the students as to what theme they wanted to host such as a Pyjama Party or Dinner Party, however they decided to go with Mad Hatters Tea Party. Ellie Websdale and Sanchia-Bella Hanson came up with the winning idea Mad Hatter’s Tea Party enabling them to show their talent and skills, while raising money for good causes.

Sanchia-Bella and Ellie were both happy to hear that their charities were chosen for the event. Sanchia-Bella said, “My Grandad was a veteran and passed away last year” wanting to support the charity that was close to home for her.
The students created the costumes of Alice, The Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, The White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum along with other appearances from Mad Hatters Tea Party. One of the parents had designed the Cheshire Cat as a cake to display at the event.

Pencils of Promise is a charity that brings life-changing education to children living in poverty around the world. Dedicated to working closely with the local communities to build schools and offer meaningful support to teachers to create a sustainable education. Help for Hero’s supports those with injuries and illnesses attributed to their service in the British Armed Forces.
The event was hosted for friends and family of the students, offering a wide selection of food and drink and entertaining the attendees with quizzes and bingo.

This was the first event that the students had put together, the organisers said, “The process of organising an event was quite stressful due to allocating jobs and ensuring that their time was managed as there is a lot to do in such a short period of time, but we enjoyed every minute and managed to raise £140.50 for our charities. However, the event was successful.
