Equine student Holly Bland is running a half-marathon to raise money for the charity which cared for her uncle in his last days. Holly, 19, will run in the event stretching just over 13 miles at Bungay on April 6 in support of Marie Curie Cancer Care. She is in her first year as a student at the Cambridge campus of the College of West Anglia at Milton where she is on a horse management course, but was devastated when her uncle died in February. It followed a long year’s battle against cancer. In his final days, he preferred to be around his family and did not want to be in a hospice. Holly, from Needham Market, said he was able to do this thanks to Marie Curie who gave round-the-clock care in his home which was very difficult.
