Young people enrolled on the Prince’s Trust Team Programme have recently created a short educational film on PREVENT. CWA funds the Prince’s Trust team programmes, which bring 17–25 year olds together to take part in community work and skills building. PREVENT is a government counter-terrorism strategy, which works to safeguard people and communities from extremism. It works with a wide range of sectors (including education, criminal justice, faith, charities and health organisations) to help them understand where there are risks of radicalisation and how it can be recognised. The Princes Trust participants set about researching the topic and held fundraising events to pay for the equipment they needed to create their film. Their vision is to roll the film out to local authority, schools, colleges, you groups and training providers to use as a classroom resource and point of discussion. A grand screening of the video will be held this month is Norwich, with attendees invited from the aforementioned establishments.
