Visiting students from Finland are spending time learning at the College of West Anglia at King’s Lynn. Four of them from colleges in southern Finland are on a six-week exchange learning about uniformed services and private sector security. And then five students on uniformed services courses at the college will spend time in Finland. Setting up the exchange was the vision for Lee Mallott, programme manager, who visited Finland himself last year. He said: “It is fantastic to be part of a European exchange where we can offer young people a fantastic, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live and work in a foreign country.” Lee and his lecturers have been organising for the students from Finland to get an insight into a variety of experiences. Among these they have visited the Norfolk police headquarters at Wymondham, undergone Police fitness tests in north Wales, adventure training, attended a door supervisors course in Norwich and will have a week’s work experience in a security-related experience. And they joined other students from the college’s campuses in a log run competition in Wootton Woods. The visits have been paid for with European funding.
