King's Lynn health and social care students a King’s Lynn have been spreading some Christmas cheer at a local care home. As part of their course, the level three learners take part in a social enrichment project, learning how to plan and carry out fundraising events. With Christmas fast approaching, the students decided to use this opportunity to give back to the community and chose to support residents at Goodwins Hall Care Home, specifically those who do not have visitors during the festive period. The students held a bake sale in the college’s social hub and used the funds they raised to purchase a horde of Christmas goodies such as puzzles, books, biscuits and pamper sets. On 12th December, they went to Goodwins Hall to spread festive cheer by donating the gifts and chatting with residents. Care and early years placement coordinator Deb Large said: “The residents I spoke to were really touched that the students had thought of them and they loved their presents”.
