Two staff from the Isle campus of the College of West Anglia and a friend have raised at least £1,500 for women’s cancer charities by cycling 100k at night. Natalie Gooch, Zoe Drew, Emma Chenery all completed the event, which saw them bike from the Royal Windsor Racecourse, into London and back again in the Women v Cancer Ride The Night event. They had the back-up of spare inner tubes, plenty of water, puncture repair kits and fantastic feedstations to replenish them with food and drink and support . Marshalls were very good and encouraged them all the way around the course. Locals in all the areas they cycled through cheered and waved them on. Natalie even got a £2 donation from a passer by. Natalie's husband and son, Tim and Henry cheered the trio on along one point of the road and were there to meet Natalie with a big welcome at the finish line. They hope to have raised at least £1,500 when all our donations were collected and are already getting organised to sign up for next year’s event. It was an emotional event for all concerned and they were all very pleased that they completed it and crossed the finish line. Zoe even got a round of applause at her local pub when she turned up with her medal for a well-deserved glass of rose.
