Cromwell Community College students enrolled on the College of West Anglia’s 14-16 construction course in Wisbech, have been working on a festive project for the Trinity Rotary club, in Kings Lynn.
Students were given a rundown sleigh that needed redecorating and tidying up, ready for upcoming festivities in Kings Lynn town. The sleigh was in need of some tender loving care and needed completely rebuilding. Students started from scratch with a great deal of planning. Between the two groups they have designed, rebuilt and sprayed the sleigh.
On Tuesday 22nd September, students handed over the sleigh to the King’s Lynn Trinity Rotary Club.
John Taylor, fundraising chair of King’s Lynn Trinity Rotary Club, said: “I hope the students have enjoyed the project. They really have brought the sleigh into the 21
st century. On behalf of the rotary club, I want to thank everyone at Cromwell Community College and CWA for their hard work.”
Student Beth Harrison said: “This is a great opportunity to be involved in a project that supports the local community.”
Andy Hunter, Vice Principal of Cromwell Community College, said: “What the students have achieved in just a few weeks is unbelievable. They should be enormously proud.”
Charlotte Siggins, 14-16 Partnership Liaison Officer at CWA, said: “The level of work that has gone into this is amazing and the sleigh has been finished to such a high standard. They’ve done an amazing job!”
