CWA Hospitality students wowed diners with their culinary talents earlier this month, helping to prepare a three course dinner for paying customers at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
12 colleges applied to be a part of the event but only three were selected to cook for the 100 diners on Friday 11 September, 2015.
King’s Lynn duo Jonathan McCauley, 30, from Sutton Bridge and Alicja Szmyt, 18, from King’s Lynn, are both studying towards Level 3 Diplomas in Professional Cookery at CWA. They teamed up with West Suffolk and Redbridge College to cook a three course dinner for 100 people in the prestigious grounds of Cambridge University.
The CWA pair prepared a starter of Beetroot and Vodka cured trout, pickled cucumber, licorice, smoked tomato and soda bread crisp. Redbridge focused on the main and West Suffolk the dessert.
Jonathon Boyall, lecturer in hospitality at the College of West Anglia, said: “The evening went very well and the guests were delighted with the quality of the food. Both students should be very proud of what they achieved.”
