Members of the senior management team went 'back to the floor' during National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2018. NAW invites apprentices and employers across the country to celebrate their successful partnerships and encourage more people to choose 'earn while you learn' as a pathway into a great career. Principal David Pomfret spent a time working alongside Liam Cawston, a level 5 operations/departmental manager apprentice, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn as a porter. Typical porter duties include transferring patients between wards, moving medical equipment, delivering materials to wards and collecting domestic and clinical waste.

Director of employer engagement, Shaun Hindle, joined the Anglian Water team at flag Fen Peterborough. He spent a day with Lukasz Gogol, who is currently on an Anglia Water sponsored construction apprenticeship. Lukasz was awarded the Anglian Water Alliances Apprentice of the Year 2018. Shaun's day involved a number of tasks such as hand-digging, back-filling laying ducts and reinstating.

Andrew Gedge, director of attainment and student experience, was paired up with carpentry apprentice Lukas Misevicius and the Lovell team in King's Lynn. Lovell are experts in housing-led regeneration – including new-build, open market housing, refurbishment and planned maintenance. Andrew's experience revolved around working on a live building construction site.
