College students ran the length of the English Channel on 7th October to raise money for the Kandoo Club.
Seven students from the Bridge to Sport ran a total of 33 kilometres at the running track at Alive Lynnsport, which is home to CWA’s Sports Campus. Over £400 was raised in total though sponsorship.
The run was part of a series of events aimed at raising money for Kandoo Club. The charity offers people with disabilities the opportunity to play a wide range of sports. Sessions provide the chance to have fun, make new friends and take part in physical activity.
Students and staff also held a raffle on 14th October. The students raise a total of £28 through ticket sales. The winners were given prizes such as chocolate, biscuits, candles, and luxury bath sets which were donated by college staff.
Catherine Hersee said:
"The students had great success in completing their sponsored run today, raising money for a great cause and enjoying themselves at the same time. The charity has previously supported a member of the course so the group knew how much this money would help."
