The College of West Anglia recently held an exciting Hair and Beauty Careers Event, offering students a unique opportunity to connect with industry professionals and explore a wide range of career paths within the beauty sector. The event welcomed several external companies, who shared insights into the opportunities and work experience that they can provide, from salon-based careers to positions within the wider beauty industry.
In addition to the external exhibitors, CWA also highlighted the diverse range of beauty-related courses it offers, including Media Make-Up, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. Students were able to engage with potential employers and gain a better understanding of the skills required to succeed in the field.
The event highlighted the many possibilities within the hair and beauty sector, from working in high-end salons to freelance careers in media make-up for TV, film and fashion.
This hands-on experience, combined with expert advice from leading professionals, allowed students to see the exciting opportunities the industry holds and how their training at the college is preparing them for real world success.
Jane Schauenburg, Lee Stafford Professional Haircare, said, “Events like these are great as they open the students’ minds to what is out there. It gives them the confidence to go and talk to people. But also, to learn about opportunities in the industry that they may not have considered already’”.
