CWA Basketball Academy recently took part in the AoC Sport National Championships in Newcastle competing against the best basketball programmes in the country and finished in a very respectable sixth place.
CWA Basketball Academy based at CWA Sports Campus, has a strong and proud history of achievement over a number of years and this year saw the team win the East Region Tournament back in November, which allowed the team to progress to the National Finals where the team equipped themselves well, narrowly missing out on the semi-finals by just one point.
Academy players combine their studies with professional coaching from James Bamfield of Fury Basketball. A number of the players get the opportunity to represent Fury in the Senior National League division 4 and the academy has been a production line of talent for a number of years now.
Programme Manager for Sport Tommy Good said: “We are extremely proud of the players achievements demonstrating King’s Lynn can compete with the best in the country and we hope to build on this with what looks like a very talented cohort for Sept 2017.”
