College of West Anglia (CWA) staff and students have come together to help support the people of Ukraine by rowing, cycling and running the 2,393-mile distance from King’s Lynn to Kyiv.
Sports and Public Protective Services students at CWA’s Sports Campus based at Alive Lynnsport have covered over 500 miles so far and are set to reach their 2,393-mile target in the next few weeks.
Students and staff also held a bake sale to reach their £2,393 fundraising target to support the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal and alleviate the humanitarian crisis taking place across the country.
CWA students and staff have also been collecting donating essential items, such as thermal blankets, hygiene essentials, first aid kits and pet food to support the people of Ukraine, as well as other fundraising events such as crazy golf.
David Pomfret, CWA Principal, said, “It is particularly heart-warming to see how our staff members and student body have rallied around to organise a number of fundraising activities and facilitate collection points to support the people of Ukraine.”
