Many of you from across the college have been asking how we can support the people of Ukraine at the moment. Here are a few examples of college activities that you can get involved in.

Donate to the College of West Anglia’s Just Giving Page

We have set-up a donation page to raise money for The British Red Cross Society to support humanitarian efforts across the Ukraine. To donate, please visit:

https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/college-of-west-anglia

We are aiming for a fundraising target of £2,393, the distance from King’s Lynn to Kyiv, which Sports and PPS students will be running, cycling and rowing at Alive Lynnsport from now onwards.

There are also collection tins based at the shop in King’s Lynn, and the reception areas at Wisbech and Cambridge, too.

Donate items to LRC collection points at King’s Lynn, Wisbech and Cambridge campuses

The Creative Arts faculty have put together a number of collection points to donate essential items. The Learning Resource Centres across all campuses are now taking in useful items for the people of Ukraine. Specifically, we are looking for:

    • Thermal blankets, sleeping bags, towels, all new or in VERY good, clean condition
    • Hygiene essentials including feminine care items
    • Nappies and wet wipes
    • First aid items & antiseptic products, First Aid Kits
    • Flashlights & Batteries, Candles
    • Power Banks
    • Face Masks and Hand Gels
    • New Thermos Flasks
    • Heat Retaining Foil Emergency Blankets

Once donated, the items will be taken to a local centre to be sent to Ukraine.

A Wisbech campus student works for Ukraine Lifeline and is collecting dry dog and cat food to send to Ukraine. Collection points for this will be the LRCs across all campuses.

Support Sport and Public Protective Services fundraising activities

As well as cycling, running and rowing the 2,393 kilometre distance from King's Lynn to Kyiv, Sports and PPS staff and students will be holding a bake sale on Thursday 17th March at the Sports Campus. Please come along and support by buying a cake or two, to raise money for the Red Cross.
