Health and Social Care students at King’s Lynn campus celebrated International Women's Day with an engaging ‘speed networking’ event designed to connect them with inspiring professional women from a range of industries around the local area.
The event welcomed a range of roles including senior figures in healthcare, policing, construction, education and local government, all sharing their experiences and leading in their fields. Each professional shared their career journeys offering valuable insights into their roles and the skills needed to succeed.
Students had the chance to ask questions in a fast-paced, interactive setting, learning how their courses could lead to exciting career opportunities. The event sparked lively discussions and encouraged students to think about their future paths.
By bringing together students and successful women from various fields, the event highlighted the achievements of women in the workplace and motivated students to explore possibilities for their own careers.
Domminie Wright, Programme Manager for Health and Social Care, said ‘It was fantastic to see students and professionals engaging in inspiring conversations. My favourite bit of feedback so far has been from Chloe Frohawk, a Level 3 Health studies student, she said: “It made me feel empowered as a young woman, to understand how they got into their roles and what they do. It inspires me to not give up my dreams”. For me, that’s what it is all about!’
