Outstanding results from Uniformed Services students
The College of West Anglia is pleased to announce that its BTEC Level 2 course in uniformed and public services has achieved the greatest number of higher grade passes seen on the course in recent years.
Between them, they have worked very hard to achieve 10 Distinction*’s, two Distinctions and eight merits.
These grades help students progress in their education, giving access to Level 3 (equivalent to 3 A-Levels) courses which, on successful completion, can assist entry to university or employment.
Throughout the year the faculty compete in many external competitions and partake in many trips within the interest of those completing the course. These include fire station visits, RAF and army visits among others.
Mr Pat Kavanagh, Course Director of the BTEC Level 2 Programme, said: “Students on the course have benefitted from interaction with all our uniformed services throughout the year. From September 2016 new students will have more opportunities to interact and work with our uniform and public services, as well as take part in a wide variety of activities designed to improve their confidence and abilities.”
Head of faculty Andrew Gedge said: “These fantastic results reflect the outstanding effort made by our students this year. Their grades will inevitably benefit them when they progress to higher education or employment, as it shows they are focused on their careers and now more than work ready.”
