The College of West Anglia’s Wisbech campus successfully hosted a careers fair, bringing together students and local businesses to explore future career opportunities. The event provided an invaluable platform for students to connect with employers and gain insight into local industries and careers.

Over 40 local exhibitors from a wide range of sectors attended the fair. These included healthcare, construction, higher education, and the Cambridgeshire Fire Brigade, who were all on hand to offer advice and guidance to students, answering questions about what opportunities were available.

The event also welcomed the Mayor of Wisbech, who attended to show support for the college and the community. The Mayor interacted with students, exhibitors, and college staff, highlighting the importance of building strong links between education and local industries to benefit the town’s future workforce.

Lesley Anderson, Workplace and Careers Co-Ordinator and one of the organisers of the event said, “It has been an amazing day, with over 40 local employers, the Mayor of Wisbech and college staff all coming together and engaging with our students, showing them the employment opportunities open to them. It was a real team effort from all the staff at the Wisbech campus that enabled today to be a great success.”
