Will completes Toughest Challenge!
Level three fitness enthusiast Will Horn recently competed at the ‘Toughest’ obstacle course challenge in Pippingford Park, London, on 23 April.
For the past three years Will has been a student at CWA studying sports coaching, instructing fitness and has now moved on to become a personal trainer.
Tommy Goode, programme manager for sport, said: “It is fair to say that when Will first joined the college he was quite a shy individual who wasn’t overly interested in health and well-being.”
To overcome his shyness Will studied hard and gained a work placement at MOTIV8 gym, Kings Lynn. Due to his work placement hours and his course content - taught by Personal Trainer Julie Lawrence - Will has been able to expand his ever growing knowledge of the fitness industry and has now gained paid employment at MOTIV8.
It was with MOTIV8 that Will completed the 'Toughest' challenge. The challenge is spread over 8km and includes 40 extreme obstacles; each differing in size and complexity and spanning over an eight kilometre run. The challenge is deemed as one of the hardest obstacle courses in the country, with many participants failing to complete the course.
Mr Goode said: “Will has achieved so much in the short space of time he has been at the college. Gaining employment in an area related to his course is a huge achievement that Will should be extremely proud of as many students struggle to find paid work whilst still training, due to the high volumes of people looking for fitness industry jobs.
“We will be sad to see him leave college this year, but would like to wish him well in all that he does in the future.”
