Practical Animal Care - Level 2 - Part-Time

Are you an adult and interested in training to work with animals? If so, now you can! Our new adult only Practical Animal Care course is one day per week and fits around school hours.

    Units & Modules

    • Promote and Maintain Health and Wellbeing of animals
    • Control and Restrain Animals
    • Provide Feed and Water to animals
    • Maintain Animal Accommodation

    Mixture of practical and theory sessions each week working with a range of companion, large and exotic animals.

  • Entry Requirements

    You will need:

    • an interest in working with animals

    You will be asked to complete written assessments for this course, so you will also need a decent understanding of writing in English.

    This course runs each Monday from 10am to 2pm

    Learners with an active Education, Health & Care Plan

    If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.

    ABC Level 2 Award in Animal Care Skills

    How is my course assessed?

    This course is assessed via and assignments/assessments. You will build a portfolio of evidence as the course progresses.

Diploma in Animal Management Level 3

Following her success in studying A-levels at CWA, Phoebe is now working towards her diploma in Animal Management.

“I enjoy the atmosphere of the college environment and the way of learning. I like the handling lessons most, where we are 'hands-on' with the animals, but I also find the lessons on animal behaviour very interesting.

Phoebe plans to either study animal behaviour or zoology at university or gain employment in the animal care sector.
