Practical Animal Care - Level 2 - Part-Time

What will I study on this course?

You can expect to learn about essential topics such as:

• Promote and Maintain Health and Wellbeing of animals
• Identifying normal and abnormal signs of health in animals
• Control, Handle and Restrain Animals safely
• Provide Feed and Water to Animals
• Maintain Animal Accommodation

This course is suitable for individuals that are interested in developing a career with pets, farm animals or exotic species as you will study a blend of practical and theory sessions each week working with a range of companion, large and exotic animals.

You will need:

• A qualification in level 1 Animal Care or a relevant Level 2 qualification.
• All learners will need to complete a BKSB assessment at interview

Or

• 4 or more GCSEs at Grade 3 or higher, including English, maths or science

At Wisbech, this course runs each Wednesday from 9.30am - 2.30pm. At Cambridge, this course runs each Monday at the same time.

Learners with an active Education, Health & Care Plan

If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
