Higher Education (UcWA)Computing is changing our world, the way we work and the way we live. To study computer science is to put yourself at the forefront of both technological and social change. This degree is accredited by Anglia Ruskin University.
This course examines the principles and technologies underpinning the systems that are driving this change. It provides an opportunity to learn about these directly through a combination of classroom theory and practical activities. Within this context, this degree has two main aims. The first is to provide you with a good understanding of the theory, principles and technologies of computer science. The second is to equip you with the skills to apply this knowledge and theory to a range of practical challenges.
The field of computer science offers a wealth of opportunity across a range of specialist fields. The variety of course options offered allows you to finetune your degree, focusing on areas of interest or to meet the requirements of a favoured career.

We set our course fees annually. As students pay a fee for each year of their course, the fees set for future academic years may be higher than those set in the 2024 / 2025 academic year.
For each future academic year of your course of study, your fees may be subject to review and increase on a basis in line with the Retail Prices Index (RPI) plus 3%. RPI is a measure of inflation published monthly by the Office for National Statistics which measures the changes from month to month in the cost of a representative sample of retail goods and services bought by consumers within the UK. This means that your course fees will not be increased each year by more than RPI + 3% from the previous year's fees and will not ever exceed the maximum amount that the government allows higher education institutions to charge students in the related academic year.

This course will be assessed through practical, written assignments and formal examinations.
Whilst there are no specific additional costs, students will require access to a suitable computer at home

The teaching team at UcWA has been delivering degree level courses in Kings Lynn for approximately 20 years, as such have developed considerable experience explaining the complexities of Computer Science to undergraduates. The team consists of several specialists who have had industrial experience working as software developers, networking engineers and consultants in sectors such as business intelligence, manufacturing and retail, enabling them to relate the subjects covered to real world situations and applications.
