School Leaver / 16 - 18 yr Old Vocational CoursesThe course is designed to provide you with a broad introduction to the sports and active leisure sector, equipping you with underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector.
The qualification provides a range of basic, introductory skills, as well as core knowledge, relevant to sport and active leisure, alongside generic employability skills. You will have the opportunity to use the sports facilities at our Sports campus (based at Alive LynnSport) for the practical units in which you will gain experience in taking part in sport and working in sport and active leisure.
Interview required.
Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, students are required to show willingness to learn, participate in and develop skills in a college environment. Following an interview it is expected that you will attend a taster session to determine suitability for the course and to ensure your needs are met.

Assessment is an ongoing process and consistent throughout the academic year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via the Personal Development Plan. You are assessed on an individual basis by the tutors and through the verification of completed portfolio units. The online PDP system allows you to log in and view your progress and targets so that you are aware of your achievement to date. Three progress reviews and regular staff meetings ensure that all the assessment and review process continues to map individual progression.
