Operation Christmas Child - Samaritans Purse Driver Greer Harbinson giving certificate of receipt to Helen Parker Business students from CWA have managed to fill and send 38 shoeboxes, to disadvantaged children around the world. The student project was part of Operation Christmas Child, which is an initiative of the Christian relief and development agency Samaritan’s Purse, and has been providing underprivileged children around the world with gift-filled shoeboxes wrapped and packed by children and adults in the UK, since 1990. The students packed the boxes with a range of gifts, which the students collected from friends, relatives and colleagues. The boxes were then wrapped in Christmas paper before being collected by the charity, from the college’s King’s Lynn Campus. Programme Manager, Helen Parker said “The students really enjoyed packing their shoeboxes and are pleased to know that 38 disadvantaged children around the world will benefit from their efforts”. The project contributed to one of the units for the students Level 3, Extended Diploma in Business.
