The Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Nail Technology faculties at CWA held a ‘Give the Sparkle Back’ week of fundraising events to support the Look Good, Feel Better Charity.
The college held events at both their King’s Lynn and Wisbech Campuses, supported by Students and Staff.
Activities included hair styling, manicures, nail art, beauty treatments and leg waxing with the money raised going to the charity.
There was even ‘Christmasgrams’, where for a donation harmonious hairdressers sang Christmas songs to chosen recipients.
Other activities included a cake sale and guess the number of sweets in a jar completion.
Staff and students across both campuses managed to raise £929.14 for the charity which is the only worldwide cancer support charity, providing practical support for women struggling with the side effects from cancer treatment.
Programme Manager for Hair & Beauty at CWA, Carole Gallagher said “The staff and students really got behind the event and their generosity has been overwhelming”.
The charity which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year provides free skincare and make-up workshops, which are held in over 70 hospitals and cancer care centres throughout the UK.
