Interviews are a resounding success at QEH
The College of West Anglia and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn joined forces to offer aspiring nurses and paramedics an insight into the NHS interview process.
30 level 3 Extended Diploma students were interviewed across two days on Friday 22 January and Wednesday 3 February 2016. The interviews were an attempt to develop 'university interview skills' in those who have applied to UCAS to do a range of courses (nursing, midwifery, paramedic, physiotherapy etc.).
Margaret Hallett, Course director for the OCR Nursing and Paramedic Academy, said: “Lots of our students already have interviews arranged at various universities but this was a chance to have a 'real' experience with NHS professionals in an NHS setting.
She added: “The feedback from students was excellent and they all gained from this valuable experience. Once again, thanks to Julia and the team for their hard work and support in arranging it.”
Julia Saunders, Practice Development Nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital said: “We are so pleased to be working in partnership with the College of West Anglia. We were keen to offer students mock interviews that were as realistic as possible, and our overall impression of the students is very high.
“They all acted professionally and really took the interviews seriously. The students have been excellent ambassadors for the college and themselves. We’re sure that they will all go on to have very successful careers in the future and we wish them the best of luck.”
