In their first two weeks on the course the new intake of stewarding students from CWA have already supported 2 large charity events. On the students first weekend of the course they supported the Scotty’s Little Soldiers fun run in King’s Lynn town centre by manning checkpoints and collecting money for the local charity. Stuart Robinson, Chief Executive of Scotty’s said: “Volunteers are the lifeblood of charities so we were so pleased when the Uniformed Services students from the College of West Anglia offered to assist us as our recent fundraising event.  As a charity supporting bereaved military families the Uniformed Services students have a close connection to our cause and were fully committed to whatever tasks they were ask to complete on the day.  Smart, polite, punctual and extremely helpful, which is all we can ask for - we'll definitely be asking them for their assistance again in the future.” Just last weekend the same 14 students were out again on a Sunday volunteering their time to the East Anglian Air Ambulance run way run at Bircham Newton. Programme Manager Lee Mallott said: “The learners are showing huge potential at such an early stage of their course. It was pleasing to see them working and communicating so well with the general public. The students will work towards 100 hours of work experience over the duration of the course but they’re already off to a flying start and it’s only the middle of September!
