IMG_0371 Students at King’s Lynn campus were given a day of workshops with a twist, to expand their knowledge of equality and diversity. Health & social care and childhood study students were treated to a range of workshop ‘experiences’ to highlight the diversity of our society and how it effects job roles within their sectors. Workshops included a Hindu experience with dressing in a Sari, an ‘X-Factor style’ music contest, making rap music about diversity with a panel of judges, a diversity dinner party and a an ‘Asian experience’ with green tea, meditation and yoga. One of the event organisers, early years tutor Sasha Courtney-Jenner said “All of the learners in the faculty complete academic modules linked to Equality and Diversity but we decided as a team to promote diversity in a whole team way – including our learners! The aim was to help learners to appreciate the implications of diversity on practice and also the effects of discriminatory practice on people who use services. Learners and tutors also had a lot of fun!”
