Uniformed Services Students Onesie Fun Run for Scotty’s Little Soldiers
CWA Uniformed Services students took part in a ‘Onesie Fun Run’ to raise money for the locally based charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
The run took place at Alive Lynn Sport running track on Thursday 18th December.
Around 70 – 80 Students wore a variety of onesies during the race ranging from Spiderman to a sheep all in in the name of raising money for the local charity.
This event was the second part of a two stage money raising event, after students also did bucket collections in King’s Lynn town centre. Over the 2 events the group raised over £500 for the charity.
Scotty the charity’s mascot also pitched in and ran some of the 471km, the distance between the 2 holiday homes the charity has opened for children of the fallen and their families to use in Great Yarmouth and Blackpool.
Jo Evans, course director for uniformed services level 3 said: “the students had really good fun whilst raising a really good amount for this very worthwhile cause, I’m really proud of all of them.”
Stuart Robinson, Chief Executive of Scotty’s Little Soldiers said “This isn’t the 1st time the uniformed services students have raised money for the charity and yet again they have gone out of their way for us, I’d like to say a really big thank you to the staff and students of the college for their continued support.”
