Wisbech travel event a huge success
Forty-seven staff and students attended a pop-up travel café and Dr. Bike event on Wednesday 3 February. These events were run in partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council Awdry House. Representatives from Travel for Cambridgeshire and Stagecoach delivered travel advice ranging from car sharing, public transport options, cycling to walking. Attendees enjoyed free refreshments provided by Wisbech Campus catering.
There was also a free prize draw with fantastic prizes on offer including cycle equipment, a pedometer, travel beaker and more! Stagecoach and Tesco Wisbech provided an East Megarider Gold 7 day bus pass and a Disney Frozen cycle helmet to promote the number 66 Wisbech town bus route, which stops just outside the Wisbech Campus main entrance on Ramnoth Road.
The travel café was held at Awdry House and was attended by CWA and Cambridgeshire County Council staff. A cycle mechanic from Outspoken Cycles was also on hand in the Wisbech Campus car park for staff and students to get a free bike health check.
The event was funded by Travel for Cambridgeshire, a partnership organisation set up to help businesses prepare and implement effective travel initiatives that promote cycling, walking, public transport and car sharing to work.
