DSC_0909 RUN Young pupils who have been spending a day a week with the Uniformed Services department of the College of West Anglia did a ten-mile walk to raise money for the Lynn-based Scotty’s Little Soldiers charity. And the walk, from Wells to Burnham Deepdale, by the second-year day release pupils, raised £320 which will go to the cause which raises money for the children of men and women killed while serving in the British Armed Forces. It has national standing after being set up in Lynn by Nikki Scott after her husband Lee was killed in Afghanistan, leaving her behind and their two young children The eight walkers were accompanied by uniformed services lecturer Dave Griffiths with organiser and fellow lecturer John Felmingham in charge of transport. Pupils came from KES, Smithdon, Downham Market Academy, Marshland and Hamond’s, with a number expected to join full-time courses at the College of West Anglia in September. One of the young walkers Amy Doy raised £100 from the walk and GEAR run.   PICTURE Some of the young walkers.
