Counselling - Level 3 - Part-time

It looks at the variety of contexts and settings within which helping skills are used (e.g. support services, healthcare, social care, youth and community work, early years). This could be in areas such as workplace mentoring, advice and guidance support or the use of counselling skills.

Units include:

• Developing counselling skills
• Theoretical approaches in the use of counselling skills
• Working ethically with counselling skills
• Counselling skills and diversity
• Counselling skills and personal development

This course covers the skills needed to communicate effectively and to engage in a one-to-one helping relationship appropriately. Whilst there are no entry requirements, our NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Counselling Skills course is a great option to lead into this programme.

Learners with an active Education, Health & Care Plan

If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
