School Leaver / 16 - 18 yr Old Vocational CoursesThe supported internship is designed to develop work based skills predominantly in a series of practical areas, and is for students aged over nineteen who have the potential to gain paid employment.
This supported internship effectively bridges the gap from college to employment. It is a work-based program that involves students completing up to 3 different work placements within the academic year alongside classroom-based activities that will help support students to develop the skills and experience required to reach their full potential as they move into their adult life.
The placement on our supported internship programme will take place at an employer at King's Lynn. This could be at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, at the college in a support department (such as in student services or in the food hub) or another employer. You will be allocated a placement after you start your course.
Students need to be aged between 19 and 25 and are expected to show a positive attitude to learning and work in order to achieve their full potential.
All students will need an Educational, Health & Care Plan to start this course.

Information on Fees and Financial Help
Depending on your age, course, educational history and personal circumstances, there may be options available for you to receive a course fully-funded by the government. Our fee calculator will help give you an idea on whether you'll be able to have your course fee waived or covered by an Advanced Learner Loan.
If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
Assessment is ongoing and consistent throughout the academic year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via the Personal Development Plan. Learners are assessed on an individual basis by the tutor and mentor through the verification of completed portfolio of evidence. The online PDP system allows for the learner to log in and view their progress and targets so they are always aware of their achievement to date.
